"Anke's pace during the class was great and so is her ability to break down concepts so they are easier to understand to someone like myself who isn't well versed in training. There was a lot I came out with but the biggest thing was being aware of my body language. When training my dogs, it was something I hadn't thought about much."

Anke has a special gift with dogs. She has worked with me for 2 different dogs and her techniques for training are so effective. She bonds with the dogs and they love her. She does amazing things with her gift.

Anke and DogGoneSmartTraining are great! She is so enthusiastic and made our training lessons fun and positive. Our dog Maximus learned so much and looked forward to the Cookie Lady coming every Saturday. We found Anke to be very knowledgeable as well as helpful, and would recommend her highly to anyone! Thanks so much-

I contacted DogGone Smart Training because I had *no* idea how to come to a 'happy medium' with my dog--let him have fun and be a puppy without tearing my hair out. The most useful thing was learning that I CAN train him, that he CAN learn...that we can co-exist :)
Biggest change: shaped behavior (doorbell rings, he doesn't go nuts, etc)

Newbie is almost 3 years old. Newbie was crazy. He was nearly impossible to take for a walk. He would bark at people, other dogs and especially bikes. Oh, how he hated bikes. One time we were at a stop light and he jumped out of the car window to chase after a bike. He was very proud of himself, we however, were in shock. We relize...
d then that we needed help training him. Anke came to our house and was amazing with Newbie. She trained us how to correct him when he showed an undesirable behavior. We now talk him for walks every day and it has become an enjoyable experience. He no longer barks at people or wants to chase bikes. We are very proud of the good dog he has become. THANKS ANKE!!

LeoKnightdas has always been a fun, loving and playful dog. The issue with him was trying to get him to focus on the task at hand while in a new environment or surrounded by other animals. Almost the “Marley” kind of dog. However, working with Anke has nurtured him and helped him to focus with commands, perform loose leash walking without the constant pulling and allowed us to control our young Husky.

Thank you so much for all your help with Sammy!
We were given this adorable puppy last Christmas Eve and he proved to be a real handful.  Now with training from Anke (for both puppy and humans), Sammy behaves much better and we now understand why he does what he does.  Anke's expertise an extensive background training animals of all kinds is very evident as she works with our dog.  Also evident is her true love and animals and belief in training them in a very positive, humane manner.  I would highly recommend Anke to anyone needing dog training.

We have four loving, yet independent-minded AKC Cocker Spaniels.  We had tried basic dog training through our vet's office a few years ago with limited success.  The focus was on using choke collars and leash corrections.  The dogs didn't like the training methods very much.
Then we hired Anke to come to our home and work with the whole family.  Anke uses such gentle and positive techniques!  No choke collars or leash corrections.  Instead, she gets to know the animals in a way that encourages consistent communications between the partners.  We have had such amazing success utilizing Anke's methods and have had a much better relationship with our little ones.  Thank you Anke!

When we called DogGone Smart, we were pretty desperate.  Our 6 month old puppy hadn't been with us for too long and she was "out of control" in our opinion.  On our first class, she actually did a lot of the things that Anke taught us to teach her and we felt encouraged.  Over the past 6 weeks we have had some ups and downs (our dog is a little wild!) but Kayla has come a long way! We are now entering the second round of classes and can't wait.  It was fun to see all of the things that she could do at puppy graduation.

It can be embarrassing and stressful to have new people meet my spastic dogs, but Anke made me feel at ease and gave me hope that my dogs could actually learn their manners!  Her program is completely customizable, so you can work on specific things, or just everything in general.  Since we have 2 dogs, each has their own issues that we are working with.  It definitely takes a lot of work (everyday!) but it is so worth it the first time you take your dog for a walk and he doesn't bark at a single person, or just knowing you are giving your dog the leadership he needs.  Anke has endless patience and really works on building your confidence as well as your dogs.  Even though I trained my dogs on my own, based on TV shows and books, Anke provides new tools and strategies that are much more effective.  I find my dogs really respond positively to the clicker, especially on walks.  I'm so happy we decided to use Anke as a trainer! My dogs love their teacher (cookie lady) and can't wait for school every week!
